Memory #31
Trivial Positive - i - His father teaching him how to fish (childhood headcanon)
Regained - Game #116, Three, elevator regrets
Shareable - Seven extra uses (now six)
So this is exactly what it says on the tin--Ven's dad taking him along fishing when he was wee. Baby Ven thinks the worms are gross, so Dad baits the hooks, and he lets Ven pet the fish that are too small to keep while he unhooks them, and explains how we throw the little ones back. And chews on a long stem of grass while they wait, and sings, and tells jokes. Very patient with his kid.
This is mainly important in that it's the first memory of his bio family that he's ever gotten in Aather or in canon. So for the record, one of the things that I decided very early on when thinking about Ven's childhood headcanon is that his parents would be a) alive and b) total sweethearts (even if they maybe were dumb about letting their kid go off with that creepy offworlder for keyblade training, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.) Ven's dad is, in fact, pretty much exactly what he seems to be in this memory, and will not at any point in Ven's life try to maim or kill him. WINNING.
